Cecile Gough is very pleased to announce that the 2017 Real Health Symposium will be held at the Women’s College Hospital in Toronto, Ontario on October 28, 2017, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The mission of this event is to educate, raise awareness, create community and provide support and resources for those living with chronic illness as well as their caregivers and loved ones. This event will feature a number of speakers including: Dr. Rick Sponaugle; Dr. Robert Banner, Katina Makris, homeopath; and Cecile Gough, patient advocate.

“I have created the conference I would most like to go to as a patient,” said Cecile Gough, a former oncology nurse who has become a patient advocate for those who are experiencing similar heath challenges. For more than a decade she slipped through the cracks of the health care system in Canada until she was finally diagnosed with Late Stage Chronic Lyme Disease in 2014. Unable to receive the appropriate care at home in Canada, Gough travelled to the Sponaugle Wellness Centre in Tampa Bay, Florida, for treatment in 2016. When asked about the care she received in Florida, you will often hear her say “Doc [Dr. Sponaugle] gave me my life back.”

While struggling to find her way through the Canadian medical system she became determined to aid others who have suffered and who are suffering like her. “While trying to get the care I realized I needed to do more to help others who were facing the same up-hill battle to get real health,” said Gough. The result of that desire is the Real Health Symposium.

The day-long event will provide support and resources for those who suffer from autoimmune issues, Lyme Disease, mental illness, mold or industrial toxicity, all while raising funds for respected non-profit organizations in the community. Working with world-class experts whose lives have been touched by chronic illness, Gough believes in offering a holistic perspective of health through the Real Health Symposium.

To that end, she is bringing together the following keynote speakers:

Rick Sponaugle, M.D., is an Integrative Medicine physician who specializes in environmental medicine, tick-borne infections, and treating brain disorders. Having personally lived with mold toxicity and helping his daughter recover from Lyme disease, these experiences created the practice he has today in Florida;

Robert Banner, M.D., President of the Ontario Society of Physicians for Complementary Medicine, began his medical career as a Flight Surgeon and Diving Medical Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces. Professional and personal reasons led Dr. Banner to a more holistic view to the practice of Functional Medicine. An Adjunct Professor at the University of Western Ontario, Dr. Banner currently sees patients in his clinic in London, Ontario;

A graduate of Duke University and the Stillpoint School of Integrative Life Healing, Katina Makris is a seasoned Classical Homeopath and Certified Intuitive Healer. She is an award-winning author of two books that share her ten-year triumphant journey of healing from Advanced Chronic Lyme disease. Writing a popular health column for a decade, along with hosting the breakthrough „Lyme Light Radio Show,” Makris has a loyal and dedicated following across North America and Europe; and

For Cecile Gough, the journey towards healing has been long and challenging, yet she remains determined to take all that she has learned to help others. A popular and dynamic speaker and writer, she has been featured in national and international media to discuss the crisis of Lyme disease in Canada. Working with politicians to improve health at all levels of government, Gough has presented twice before members of the Canadian House of Commons in Ottawa. As the creator and producer of the Real Health Symposium, it is her life passion to help people get the answers and care that they need, while guiding them to become their own advocates in their journey back to health.

The Real Health Symposium proudly supports the Canadian Celiac Association and the G. Magnotta Foundation.

The Real Health Symposium has been made possible by the generous sponsorship of the Sponaugle Wellness Institute; Health Harmonies; IgeneX Inc.; The Big Carrot; and Terry Natural Canada.

Annual Edward Hersey and Gordon Lees Exhibition Returns to York Fine Arts

'Farmyard Corner' by Edward Hersey
‚Farmyard Corner’ by Edward Hersey

York Fine Arts is delighted to announce its highly anticipated annual Edward Hersey and Gordon Lees exhibition. The exhibition brings together an exceptional collection of original paintings from two leading British artists whose work consistently captures and preserves the classic charm of Britain’s most beloved towns and landscapes.

For the discerning collector or first time buyer, the exhibition is a chance to view an exclusive collection of work from two of the gallery’s most recognised artists. From Edward Hersey’s warming, in situ farmhouses to Gordon Lees’ tranquil winter village scenes, the exhibition features a wide range of paintings to suit a variety of tastes.

Renowned for his distinct style and attention to the details of the British countryside, Edward Hersey has forged a loyal international following. Painting a fine line between realist and idealist, Hersey’s work reflects the rustic beauty of pastoral life with simultaneous subtlety and finesse. His application of mood and lighting has made him one of the most highly sought after traditional painters of his generation.

Nostalgically capturing the beauty of British landscapes and towns, Gordon Lees is an established international investment favourite. His romantic style enables him to capture the idyllic atmosphere of Britain’s towns and villages, and to reflect the traditional values of a rural England now so sadly missed. It is believed that Gordon’s work was the inspiration for the trademark village scenes of Thomas Kinkade, one of America’s most prolific artists, who recognised Gordon as ‚The Original Master of Light’. Following Kinkade’s passing in 2012, Gordon Lees’ work has shown a surge in transatlantic sales.

All paintings at the exhibition are available to purchase and range from £440 to £24,885. Included is the magnificent, specially commissioned ‘Riverside Farm’ by Edward Hersey. A selection of signed limited edition prints by both artists is also available from £88.

For press enquiries or additional images, please telephone Deanna Dawkins on 01904 634221.

The exhibition opens on Friday, 17 November and runs until Sunday, 10 December 2017. Due to expected high volume of interest, an early viewing is recommended.

York Fine Arts has been a family run, established art gallery for over forty years. Over the decades we have gained an international reputation for sourcing high quality traditional and contemporary fine art from some of the very best artists practicing today.

Our carefully selected collection of artwork is tailored for a diverse range of styles and tastes. We specialise in a variety of work by established British and international artists, ranging from original oil paintings and watercolours to bronze sculptures and signed limited edition prints. We also offer a number of services, including framing, valuations, restoration and art sourcing.

General Aviation Market – Growth, Trends And Forecasts (2018-2023)

In 2008, the global general aviation market reached its pinnacle but crashed drastically since then, and breached in 2015.

The future looks promising because of the emerging markets across the globe, which is expected to drive the general aviation market. In 2016, the market was valued at USD 24.8 billion and is expected to register a CAGR of XX%, during 2017-2022 (the forecast period).

Business jet segment generated the highest revenue and accounted for about 3/4th of the share in 2016 and is expected to continue the same dominance in future. Large cabin jets are preferred, due to their fuel efficiency. Despite lower economic status in poor countries, the affluent classes have high purchasing power; thus, most of the sales are of high-value, long-range large-cabin jets.

Global Passenger Air Traffic in Billions

Source: IATA

The global general aviation market revenue is expected to increase during 2017-2022 (the forecast period) due to the infrastructural development, growth in demand among developing economic countries, like India.

Standard of Infrastructure

The major roadblocks for the Indian general aviation market growth are the stringent regulatory norms, expensive services, and the lack of infrastructures to support such aircraft. However, this situation is changing, for instance, the first heliport built in Delhi, India, is expected to boost the Indian helicopter market and, thus, accelerate the general aviation sector. The penetration of rotary wing in civil aviation is quite substantial in North America, Europe, and some countries of Latin America, whereas, is negligible in countries like India where the lack of connectivity and airports make helicopters more useful. This is expected to be a major propellant for the helicopter industry in developing economies.

Bombardier focuses on shipping 135 business aircraft in 2017, a decrease from 163 business jets delivered in 2016. The company is in the process of launching potentially game-changing aircraft, Global 7000, in 2018, which will have a maximum range of 13,705 km. In 2016, Gulfstream G650 ER controlled the market by delivering 88 units. This category holds high potential in the general aviation market, as it saves time without compromising luxury or comfort.

North America is witnessing the majority of sales, among others. The United States accounted for about 50% of the aviation aircraft that was sold, worldwide, in 2016. Countries, like India and China, have potential to be the future leaders in the global general aviation market.

The New Aircraft Forecasted to be the Leader of General Aviation?

Cobalt’s Valkyrie, piston engine aircraft, is expected to bring revolutions as it is the fastest single piston engine aircraft at a price slightly under USD 1 million. The aircraft, in terms of design, woes the customers and offers comfort, safety, and robustness. Looks of the aircraft are futuristic with military fighter jet like exterior, and this factor is expected to grab a lot of attention from customers. As the aircraft makes way towards its final FAA airworthiness certification, the global business jet and small aircraft manufacturers will be focusing to get close to the Cobalt competition. Interestingly, Cobalt features an airframe parachute available for custom order, at an extra cost of USD 40,000. This configuration seems to be inspired from Cirrus aircraft, which features a similar airframe parachute as standard equipment for light aircraft. Cobalt is all set to manufacturer the Valkyrie aircraft for, both, North American and European markets, where the demand is growing since the launch of Valkyrie aircraft.

Comfort Welcomes Newest Arrival

CARIBBEAN SEA (NNS) — The sound of two bells rang through the passageways of the Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH 20) as the announcement passed over the ship’s one main circuit.

„Sara Victoria Llull Rodriguiz, born this day Oct. 14, arriving!”

With Comfort underway in the vicinity of San Juan, Puerto Rico, providing medical assistance throughout a region devastated by Hurricane Maria, the birth of Sara aboard the ship was a reminder of the work to be done but also hope for the future of the island.

„I never thought that our special moment would happen here on this ship,” said Francisco Llull Vera, Sara’s father. „Everyone has been so helpful and gentle while caring for our baby. I hope this opens the door for those who still need help to seek out the Comfort.

At 6 pounds 8 ounces, Sara may be small, but her presence is mighty. Her birth on Comfort gained the attention of Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rossello who said this has been a bit of good news that has gone across the island. Capt. Kevin Robinson, Comfort’s mission commander, said the special occasion is one felt throughout the ship.

„I think the birth of that little girl has reinvigorated the crew,” said Robinson.

One of Comfort’s primary missions is to provide full hospital services to support U.S. disaster relief and humanitarian operations worldwide. Although fully equipped, capable and ready to support, Sara’s delivery came to many as a welcome surprise.

„We stood up the labor and delivery ward prior to getting underway,” said Lt. Karri Washbon, a labor and delivery nurse aboard Comfort who assisted with Sara’s birth. „We expected to see a lot of patients, but we weren’t sure how often we’d get to utilize this aspect. With every birth there is a unique story and we are glad to be a part of their experience. Now everyone just wants to see the baby!”

While more than 800 medical personnel and support staff aboard Comfort want to greet their newest „shipmate,” Sara’s 6-year-old brother Alonzo and 4-year-old sister Sofia, who are currently staying with family ashore in Puerto Rico, anxiously await her return.

„They are so excited to meet her,” said Tania Rodriguiz Ramos, Sara’s mother. „I got the chance to call my family and let them know that I am ok and that the baby is healthy and happy. It’s a huge blessing for Sara to be here; I owe everything to the doctors and nurses and everyone on board.”

The last birth aboard Comfort occurred Jan. 21, 2010, while the ship was providing humanitarian relief in support of Operation Unified Response following a 7.0 magnitude earthquake that caused severe damage in Haiti.

Recognizing the rarity of the situation, Comfort’s current Ship’s Master Roger Gwinn ceremoniously renamed one of the ship’s two small boat tenders the Sara Victoria.

„We wanted to do something special, the crew has taken to the baby as one of our own,” said Gwinn. „As she goes forward in life, we hope she carries Comfort with her.”

As of Oct. 15, Comfort has delivered more than 10 tons of food and water, 21,000 liters of oxygen and treated more than 100 patients to relieve pressure on the Puerto Rican health system.

Comfort is currently underway operating in the vicinity of San Juan to provide medical services with additional visits being planned around the island. The U.S. Health and Human Services and Puerto Rico Department of Health representatives are prioritizing patients at each stop prior to Comfort’s arrival. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
